  • 3-5 Years

    Log Scaler

    At North Fork Lumber Company, we are committed to a safe and prosperous future for our team

    Time.
    North Fork Lumber has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Log Scaler to Join our log yard team.
    This new position will provide assistance to Trinity River Lumber Company, Schmidbauer Lumber
    Company, and North Fork Lumber Company’s Log Scaling team and will be based at North Fork Lumber
    Company’s site in Korbel California.
    Essential Functions include:
    • Scaling and grading by utilizing the official log scaling rules for Scribner Short Log Decimal C.
    • Determine gross and net board feet of logs presented.
    • Professionally interact with regulatory agencies and mutual business professionals.
    • Represent the company in a professional and positive manner.
    • Assist in the log yard other tasks such as remanufacturing logs & operating water truck.
    • Assist the Timber Manager and Log Yard Supervisor with other projects as needed.
    The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 3 years of log scaling experience and is proficient in
    identifying and scaling of Douglas fir, western hemlock, grand fir, white fir, redwood, pine, and cedar.
    Additionally, the successful candidate must have the ability to use customized inventory control
    software, similar software programs, keyboarding and have knowledge of scaling computers.
    Candidates must have the ability to set priorities, meet goals and objectives, have a positive demeanor

    and the ability to lead and/or function within a team. Candidate must be able to multitask in a fast-
    paced environment, possess excellent communication skills and the ability to be organized and self-
    motivated.

    Full-time electrician

    North Fork Lumber Company is a family owned Sawmill that is seeking a team player to fill the position of Sawmill Electrician. We are looking to fill this position with a person who is self-motivated, a conscientious team player with a positive attitude and good work history. Please see the following minimum requirements for this position.

    Essential Functions include:

    • 3-5 years experience in sawmill environment, preferred
    • Ability to work safely / understands Lock out / Tag out
    • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and drawings
    • Ability to use electrical test equipment, multi meter, megger, amp probe
    • Basic understanding of PLCs and ladder logic
    • Ability to weld a plus but not necessary
    • Trouble shoot electrical issues independently
    • Familiar with 480v 3 phase motor starters
    • Ability to troubleshoot 240v, 120v, and 24v circuits
    • Hydraulic troubleshooting a plus
    • Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives a plus
    • Available to work overtime and weekends
